I have a ten year old male Shih Tzu, he is very healthy and active, he has a cataract in his left eye for five years now, I have had one vet tell me to leave it alone he is too old for such a surgery, and his current vet says that he is not to old for the surgery. What is your suggestion, and is it common for dogs his age to have this surgery done? He doesn't see well with just the one eye which is normal and it has not affected his personality or his active life style. He still plays and runs like he's a puppy. Any suggestions would be appreciated. His name is Sport.
I recommend that you see a vet ophthalmologist for an opinion. vetcare
