My German Shepherd mix, 2yrs old, named Sophie has severe seperation anxiety. When I am not home she destroys her crate and anything in it. She was also beaten by her previous owner pretty bad. So, she's also very sensitive. When I leave and someone is home with her she will wait for me by the door until I return. She will not eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. She is on Clomicalm but it doesn't seem to be working. I worry about her health. Since she isn't eating. We have tried putting the food down for 30 minutes then taking it away. But, she still doesn't eat. You can here her stomache gurggling and then she'll usually throwup. He last vomiting had her chew toy remnants in it. From being in the crate.
Since you have a brief history of my Sophie, do you have any suggestions? And, we are planning a vacation and need to board her. Any suggestions on what type?
Sounds like 2 different problems 1)separation anxiety which you can talk to your vet about increasing the dose, and 2) gastrointestinal disease. I recommend a visit to the vet for a checkup. vetcare
