I have a cat with medium length fur and he has a terrible problem with hairballs. There are 2 problems before we start. He is rather large (18lbs) and when you manhandle him to give him anything like antibiotics he holds a grudge against me and won't come near me. He wont go in or out the door for me for several days, only for my husband and runs if I try to get near him. He is otherwise pretty easygoing and friendly and likes to be a lap kitty. I wonder if there is anything at home I could put in his food that he might eat that would help so I don't have to force anything (laxatone) in his mouth?
The laxatone can be put in his food. If he won't eat it then try a teaspoon of mineral oil in the food. They also make special diets for cats with hairballs. Hills science diet makes it. Good Luck, vetcare
