MY 5 YR OLD MALE HAS A BAD BACK DUE TO DISK PROBLEMS. IT IS NOT SERIOUS YET FOR SURGERY, BUT WHAT COULD I DO TO PREVENT IT FROM GETTING WORSE. WHAT KIND OF MEDICATION OR SUPPLEMENTS DO YOU RECOMMEND I GIVE HIM. IS THERE A BACK BRACE I CAN BUY FOR HIM. HOW MUCH SHOULD HE WEIGHT? IS THERE ANY RUBBING OILS I CAN USE FOR HIS BACK ACHES? HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BATH HIM?
You should make sure he is cage rested until your vet feels he is healthy enough to walk and run around. He should only go on very short leash walks. I usally treat itervertebral disc disease with dexamethasone. No back brace avail and I do not know about oils. Bath about every 4 weeks. vetcare
