My dog has a bad case of seperation anxiety. When left alone she has damaged furniture, curtains, scratched at the door and even defecated on the rug. We have recently put her in a vari-kennel. Today she bit the wire and managed to open the door to get out. I am beginning to think she may need to be medicated in some way. Is there some sort of sedative that she could take to make her mellow so she doesnot go wild to get out of crate?--Please help, we are running out of alternatives. A couple of months ago she bit my 13 yr. old son--food aggression related--we think. We got the dog at the Humane Society last summer, she is 6 yrs. old. The Humane Society won't place her with anyone (due to the biting) and she will be euthanised.
Clomicalm is used for separation anxiety but is contraindicated in aggressive dogs. Sounds like you need a professional trainer. vetcare
