We have an 8 year old yellow lab, Mollie. The shedding has gotten so very bad that we are this short of gettting rid of her. And she is the dearest animal in the world. When I say shedding, I mean the kind of never, ever seen before. I brush and comb her every day, but it is always terrible and worsens in the warm weather, of course. Our vet has said it's a result of drying skin and prescribed some capsules with oil. No difference. I've used no more shed products from Pet Smart... any other suggestions?
Before you "get rid of her" I would try giving her 2 times the dose of the oil supplement. First, check with your vet to verify if it is safe to do this in your pets case. Some pets just need more omega fatty acids in their diet. A change of food may also help. Look into high quality foods at your local pet shop. Vetcare
