I have a cat... she is about 11 years old and she has had diarhea for awhile now. I took her to the vet but all they said was that she has a somewhat elevated level of bacteria in her fecal but nothing to worry about. The other thing I did notice is blood in the fecal but the vets didn't seem to be worried about it. What should I do???? They put her on anti-biotics, but we finished them and she still has diarhea. She eats and drinks fine, but my family thinks she has lost weight, but she has always been a skinny cat. help????
You should find another vet for a second opinion b/c it is not normal for your pet to have diarrhea and loose weight. Your pet should have a blood test which includes a thyroid check. Your pet should also have an x-ray to rule out anthing serious such as neoplasia. Your cat may also have inflammatory bowl dz and should be checked for that as well. Good luck, vetcare
