Hey, I'm wondering if you may know what would make a dog eat wood and crayons? My dog never chews anything up, except if the kids leave wooden blocks on the floor or crayons. I will see her out in the yard chewing on sticks and she will actually eat and swallow some of the wood. I worry that she's missing something in her diet, but she gets dog food...that's supposed to be all balanced.
Your pet is not "missing anything in his diet", he just likes to chew. This is normal but could be dangerous b/c organic matter such as wood, sticks, grass and leaves can cause an intestinal obstruction. This is rare but possible. Crayons are not toxic but technically the same problem can arise. vetcare
