My dog seems to be highly allergic to something in Frontline. She is 14. I had only used Frontline on one other occasion and noticed she seemed to lose a lot of her hearing for a while after that and thought it due to old age. This fall I gave her two treatments, two months in a row. After the first treatment, she lost some of her hearing again. After the second dose, however, she became completely deaf, her eyes swelled shut, as did her nose. She could hardly breathe. We took her to the vet (she was so sick it was to have her put down) and they gave her prednisone for the swelling. After several days, she returned to normal. It took a while for her hearing to return, but it has. We live in the country and the flea problem is bad. We had used vet flea collars in the past and if I aired them out for a couple days, she didn't react too badly to them. But, now the vets here only offer Frontline and I am so afraid to give it to her again. Any suggestions? Thanks so much.
Ask your vet about Advantage. Maybe your vet can give you a prescription for it. vetcare
