One of our Ragdoll kittens has had her share of eye problems. Last week she had a piece of cartilage (genetic deformity) removed from her right eye. It was not allowing her third eyelid to tuck itself behind the eye. The eyelid was swollen and covering part of her eye for two weeks prior to the operation. No one knew at that time that this cartilage was the culprit. The vet was treating it with eye drops twice a day. We now discovered that she has an ulcer where the swollen eyelid had rubbed against her eye. It is on the surface or first layer of the eye. How would you treat her to heal the ulcer?
If this were a superficial ulcer, then I would treat it with triple ophthalmic antibiotic 3-4 x daily and 1% Atropine 1 x daily. vetcare
