Our 11 month old lab has had maybe 8 fleas on her yet her skin broke out all over like she was infested but she is not. She lost alot of hair we tried everything flea shampoos, flea dips, frontline too. We didn't do it all in a row as so her skin wouldn't become more sensitive. I have sat there for hours and picked the fleas off only to find the next day there back. She is white so it is easy to see them. We have checked our house and there aren't any. We have another lab too but she does not have any fleas. They are inside dogs, we live in Florida. The other dog is 14, could that have something to do with it? And the only other difference is the 11 month old gets hooked up to her dog house sometimes during the day. But we usually check her when we unhook her and we don't see anything. What could be going on? P.S. we just took the dogs to the ocean yesterday to play ball, do you think the salt water will help? thank you for your time in this matter!
Try a combo of advantage and program for the fleas. The skin will not get better if you do not treat the fleas. I also recommend that you flea bomb the house and spray the yard with flea killer. good luck, vetcare
