My 10 year old Bichon has just had his second surgery for bladder stones. I did not have lab work on the first (six) stones removed 2 1/2 years ago. This time he had 26 stones that were much smaller than the last time. I have been told to feed him Hills Science Diet UD or Walthams SO. His lab results indicated calcium Oxalate and very slight magnesium. What causes these stones to form in the first place? Do you agree with this choice of dog food? Can I purchase this food in bulk or over the internet direct from the supplier for less than the asking price. Thank you for answering all of my questions. I would love to hear from you soon as I need to get him started on the new dog food.
The food you mention is only sold through vets, not on the internet. Science Diet UD is one of the prescription diets recommended for your pets stones. vetcare
