I would appreciate any suggestion for my poor 3 lb.poodle.She's 8 1/2 yrs.old
and is almost constantly scratching, and she smells no matter how often I bathe her.
I use oatmeal shampoo, and sometimes Medicated shampoo like a vet told me to. I give her cortisone tablets from the vet,and a supplement my Mom bought for her from your website for skin and coat. There's tiny little bumps all over her skin. I keep her hair really short now so I can see the skin, watching for bugs or flakes,etc... She doesn't scratch as much as she used to since I did that. The vet says she has allergies, shouldn't Missy take allergy medicine then? Please help, this doggie is miserable. How often should I be bathing her? I?ve used a few different types of shampoo that claim to be for this problem.I put cortisone cream on her and she smells really offensive but it helps her a lot! It's not going away entirely though.
Could you also suggest a dog food that might help? Thank you! Deb
If nothing is helping your pet then you may want to ask your vet for a referral to a dermatologist specialist. A specialist may have a different approach that could help. You should also consider allergy testing. vetcare
