My 7 yr. old Bichon Frise has recently started licking her legs/paws until she is making them raw. We put booties on the spot she is licking and she just switches to another foot. She has not been bitten or there is no rash or marks under the fur. Could it be that the problem is her tongue and not her feet??? I have put Panalog on the red spots she has made and they heal right up. I have also used dermacool spray, but she just keep licking. any advise you have would be appreciated.
When dogs lick their paws this usually means they have an allergy. If it occurs all year then it could be a food allergy. If it only occurs during certain seasons then it could be a seasonal allergy. Talk to your vet about allergy testing. Benadryl may also help. Good luck, vetcare
