My 2 year old female pit bull has been diagnosed with low blood sugar. Fasting sugar was low-normal at 79. She has episodes of shaking and panting that are quickly resolved by squirting pancake syrup in her mouth. My concern is twofold: What happens if an episode occurs when I am not here? And 2) Is there a better food I could be feeding her to help maintain her glucose level? Thanks.
The best food for this situation is a food rich in carbs such as science diet w/d. Talk to your vet about this prescription diet. vetcare
