My 10 month old female Olde English Bulldog has been diagnosed with Demodex. I have read a great deal about this type of mange and would like your opinion on the best method for treatment? I am very concerned about the toxicity within various medications and at the moment have opted to treat her using a dip method. She has one remaining dip treatment before rechecking by means of skin scrape analysis. I am crossing my fingers in hopes that it works. My other concern is that my vet has told me I can never breed her. I have heard differing opinions on this subject as well. What is your opinion?
Localized demodex is easily treated with oral Ivermectin. In the past some vets used a dip called Mitaban which worked well but it has since been discontinued. Vetcare
