We have a 2 yr/old black lab. Our kids are always busy with their friends and school. My husband and I are busy with school/work. I often feel sorry for our dog, because I think he gets lonely. My husband usually spends about 10-15 minutes one on one with him, just petting and talking to him. Other than that he only gets to watch my husband work on rebuilding the garage. Is this enough for our dog? should we get another dog even though we really don't want a second dog?
If the dog has shelter, food and exercise then this is good. I would not purchase/adopt anther dog that your family does not want. Maybe playing/walking/exercising with the dog can become a " chore " for the children ( I would think this would be a fun "chore".) vetcare
