I have a Persian kitten 18 weeks old that has ringworm. My Vet gave me a 2% ChlorexiDerm shampoo to wash him in 2-3 times a week but I've been told that shampooing alone does not kill the ringworm, just helps it to not spread. Is this true? And if so what can I safely give him orally that will kill it? I hate having him isolated from us! I want to get rid of this as quickly as possible! How long does a case of ringworm generally last? Thanks!!
The shampoo will kill the ringworm and help prevent spreading. There are other antifungal oral and topical medications avial. There may be a good reason why your vet only wants you to use the shampoo. Why don't you call your vet and ask? Vetcare
