I have a cat that has been diagnosed positive for the Feline Leukemia virus. She is just over a year and was a stray that I have adopted. She is a seemingly healthy cat, although is having problems gaining a healthy amount of weight. Upon being X-rayed, it was discovered that she only has one small kidney that is functioning well at this point. My question is what kind of food should I be feeding her to help her gain weight (suggest high protein, high fat) but that will not put excessive strain on her one kidney (suggest low protein)?
