My 8yrs old German Shepherd female dog have arthritis in her hip joints. She is currently taking Rimadyl for a 2 wk course to relief her inflammation and pain.
Is Rimadyl a temporary medication to relief her of pain from arthritis?
Should I switch her medication to Cosequin DS for long term since it seems like she will have permanent arthritis in her joints?
Well, rimadyl can be used for long term management of arthritis. You can try using cosequin alone or with the rimadyl. I do not know how effective the cosequin will be alone, it depends on how bad the arthritis is. Cosequin will help slow down the progression of arthritis so I recommend it anyway. Vetcare
