I have a 8 yr old female german shepard who is having problems with retaining fluid. she drinks excessive amounts of water and has been tested several times for diabetes and is normal in that respect. she has been treated with antibiotics and nothing seems to help. is there any other direction I can look into. I feel there is a reason for all the water drinking which I think contributes to her inablility to hold her water. She must be let out every two hours or she has an accident. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. She has been seen by numerous vets and I was wondering if perhaps we are missing something. Thank you
Have her kindney values been checked as well? Another possibility is Diabetes Insipitus. This type of diabetes is rare and it requires a special test. Good luck, vetcare P.S. Talk to your vet about it.
