Dakota is a rescue gsd who came to live with us 2 years ago. He's come a long way in that he weighed 67 lbs, had no hair on much of his body, no front teeth, no idea of human interaction, was abused...its a long sad story. We think he's 9 or 10 now, weighs 121 lbs, has hair and is horribly spoiled. We have a problem with his feet...they get sore, will ooze and bleed. He's been on prednisone and on and off antibiotics but days after being off antibiotics, he starts the same cycle. I've changed food and he's on a natural, no beef, no preservative type of food and still the problem persists. I need to get him off the prednisone because he has arthritis and the vet won't put him on anything to help until he is. I give him glucosamine now but the foot problem is a puzzle. Any ideas?
Maybe your pet has interdigital dermatitis or interdigital cysts?? I recommend a visit to a dermatologist. Ask your vet if epson salt soaks will help??? Good luck, vetcare
