I recently lost my Golden Retriever to Bloat. No one can tell me what it is caused by, Do you happen to know? And also what is the survival rate once they pump the stomach and all of the organs go back to the normal place? My dog was bleeding internally and that is what they said he died of but aren't the doctor's suppose to give the animal something for the bleeding once they pump the stomach?
The exact cause of bloat is unknown but deep chested dogs are more prone to it. There are many theories as to the cause. The prognosis is guarded and many times the result is death. vetcare
