I have a 13-year-old kitty that has (what the vet called) a rodent ulcer. She had one last year and was given a steroid injection which worked great. What exactly is a rodent ulcer and how can I prevent her from getting one?
This is a cutaneous reaction that developes in response to an underlying allergy ( insect, food, atopy )or other immune-mediated factors. They are usually treated with corticosteroids but removal of the causative agent may eliminate the problem. vetcare
