I adopted a kitten in September (domestic short hair) from a shelter. She's now 8 mths old and urinates all over the house (she also uses the litter box). This has been going on since we brought her home. We have an 8 yr. old cat as well, but we have two litter boxes - and they are kept clean. She was spayed in February, which hasn't made any difference. How do I get her to stop urinating on the carpets, beds and furniture? (I tried cat repellent on the bed, but even that didn't work). She's a lovable, playful, sweet cat otherwise.
This sounds like a behavioral problem. You should talk to your vet about starting your cat on valium. This helps. Vetcare
