My Mom has a 12 yr. old chihuahua. She was recently diagnosed with a urinary tract infection and was put on Baytril. This didn't seem to work, and the vet has ruled out bladder stones. The dog is now taking Clavamox, and she has been taking this medication for 11 days. Prior to her walks outside (very cold), there is no blood in her urine. The dog also uses a tray inside the house. After a walk, undoubtedly, there is blood in her urine. Can the cold, frosty weather affect the dog's infection?
No, I do not believe the weather has anything to do with it. I would discuss the situation with your vet. Your vet may have some more ides in terms of tests and treatment. vetcare
