I thought I was doing the right thing...I took my sister's 17+ year old male to vet because he kept losing weight although eating constantly. I dealt with this disease in my own female cat of 19 years but unlike this male, she had a tumor in her neck. The vet said he was severely dehydrated and injected 200 mg(?)units of subcutanious fluids and took blood for thyroid lab work. He died that same night. I believe he suffered from a heart attach due to the injection and trauma at the vets office.
Could you make me feel LESS responsible for his death? Maybe I should've let him die on his own. Sincerely, feeling
You did the right thing. You brought a very sick cat to a vet for help. The vet tried to help but your cat was too sick. At least your pet was comfortable at home when the time came. Sorry for your loss. vetcare
