Our cat Misty is in her 20th year has a large cyst on her face caused by her year younger daughter clawing her. We took her to the vet but she just drained it and said that they wouldn't operate on such an old cat and to expect that the cyst would continue. The cyst refilled within a couple of hours.
Misty has broken the cyst numerous times and it drained and hung like a sack, but then filled up again the same day.
It is driving us crazy because the cyst continues to drip all over our floors and carpet. It smells terrible.
She is a treasured member of our family and we really need to do something about this. Is there anything that we can give her that will cause the cyst to heal? Is there any antibiotic that I could put in her water or food?
Would really appreciate your help.
I am not sure antibiotics will help in this case but you can talk to your vet about it. You may also want to try soaking the cyst in epson salt. I do not know if it is possible since it is on the face. Another idea is to "risk" surgery. Good luck, vetcare
