About every 6 to 8 months my dog, (33lbs), has an ear infection. Inner ear. Each vet has given a shot to start antibiatics and prescribed Drops and a wash.
(For the last 5 years}.
They offer no reason, and the infection subsides but does not completely go away.
I would like to know why and if there is a cure???
It takes a couple of weeks to get the dog out of misery when this happens?
Thankyou very much for your help and consideration.
We have 2nd dog, (same size and a sister to this one and she never has had this problem). Feed always is Iams.
Dogs are prone to ear infections b/c of the natural curvature of their ears. Some dogs are even more prone then others paticularly if they have long floppy ears. Some dogs with allergies have an increased incidence of ear infections as well. Dogs wth chronic ear infections have different options. One option is culturing the dischage. Other options include surgery. You may want to talk to your vet about this. vetcare
