I have a feline leukemia positive cat with gingivitis diagnosed by her vet. We have been giving her Clavamox to help treat it, but is there anything else I can do to treat her at home? The vet just seems to think the sooner she looses her teeth, the better. I have Petrodex dental toothpaste, but her gums are bleeding.
1. Do I continue with the Petrodex while her gums bleed?
2. Is there a more recommended, different or better product?
Some cats benefit from the removal of some teeth and periodic teeth cleaning/scaling. Antibiotics also help. Steroids are avioded but sometimes in my experience helpful. Since your cat has leuk, i would not recommend steroids. vetcare
