our 38lb keeshond developed a multiple seizure attack (7 over 2 days ranging for 5 to 9 hrs apart, (he is about 10 years old) after talking to our local vet we concluded that this eppisode might be related to the use of BioSpot flee and tick topical control. we moved to florida about 6 month ago and have been using this product every other month for the first 4 months then went to every month. Keeze likes to wash (lick) his feet and face and does this often. We also have another keeshond that uses the same product but does not wash himself like Keeze and has shown no proplems with it's use. My question is do you think that the BioSpot might be the cause (or part of the cause) for the seizures, and have you heard of this product causing similar problems in other dogs (especially dosg that wash them selves alot). If so is there other products that is safer and will not cause a re-occurance of these seizures and is still effective in flee and tick control?
I have never heard of a dog having seizures with biospot. But if this only occurs after applying the Biospot then do not do it anymore. Try Frontline or Advantage instead. If your pet continues to seizure then I recommend blood tests and possibly a cat scan. vetcare
