We rescued an obese Burmese female (spayed) who has asthma, acne, ileus and periodic erruptions of ringworm (around her eye and the paw she washes her face with)
Her ileus has improved from near death to a VERY hearty appetite and she is elimating sufficiently.
We give her 5 mg of cisapride every two days. She has gone from dangerously overweight 21 lbs. down to 18 lbs, since we started weighing and restricting her caloric intake very carefully.
Although she is strictly an indoor cat, she has popped up with fleas and she's miserable. Given her multiple health risks, and that the cisapride may affect the efficacy of something like program, what would be safest and most effective flea treatment? (a monthly treatment, not a pyrethrin based spray)
Advantage or frontline are both excellent. vetcare
