I've always given my cats milk to drink and they love it. A friend in school once told me that cats are lactose intolerant. Also, my roommate told me today that her vet said that drinking milk is not good for cats and can cause kidney failure. Are either of these statements true? I am curious because I've lost two cats in the past five years to kidney failure, ultimately resulting in renal failure. It was horrible and I don't want to go through it again. They were both perfectly healthy otherwise, and I just want to stop giving my new kitten (she is 4 months old now) milk if this will harm her. Thank you for your help.
No, this is not true. vetcare
