Hi,I just gave my 9 Wk Min. Italian Greyhound Puppy his 2nd DA2PP Subc. Shot under the skin at the back of the neck 3 days ago.I am familiar with vaccinating animals, but noticed he has a small bump under the skin at the injection site that he is trying to scratch. Is it common for the antigens in a DA2PP Shot to leave a small bump for a few days at the site of injection in breeds of his type? I have never noticed this on my other pets, but his fur is so fine that is is noticeable. It does not appear to be infected or causing him any pain...just slightly odd looking & hoping it will go away before his 12Wk Shot. Any advice on common reactions after this type of Subc. Shot? Thanks!
Yes, this is a common reaction in any dog. Try putting ice on it 2 x daily. If it does not go away within a week then I recommend a visit to the vet. Vetcare
