My german shepard has an adrenal tumor. The vet I went to has confirmed this with blood tests and an ultrasound. He has told me that the tumor has not come into contact with an artery that is near this location, and that the tumor is operable. He has assured me several times that he can do this operation in his office and he will have the dog back to me within 48 hours. I feel that I should find a medical hospital or surgical specialist to perform this operation, but he assures me he has done several of these operations without any problems in the past. What are the things that I should be worried about or what can go wrong with this kind of operation? He assures me everything will be fine. This dog means everything to me. Can you give me any information?
It sounds like you do not trust your vet and I can not make you trust your vet so why don't you go for a second opinion at a speciality hospital. Maybe that will make you feel better. With any surgery there are risks. Vetcare
