My cat recently became very ill(vomiting, diareha, stopped eating and drinking) I took her to the vet, he took her temp. charged me $35 and told me that unless I had $300 up front he could do nothing. I have called several vets and all they care about is the money. I am out of work and cannot afford another bill. I brought her home and started giving her pedialite and a vitamin suppliment(nutri-cal), she has improved greatly and started eating again, but still has diareha or soft stool. Can I give her pepto for the diareha or will you just tell me to take her to the vet like everyone else? I don't have that option. Please help me help her.
You can ask your vet for a medication called centrine. Since he/she has already examined your pet maybe he/she will sell you this medication or write you a rx for it. Centrine tablets have worked well in some of my cats with diarrhea. Pepto is dangerous to give to cats b/c it contains salicylate acid. vetcare
