We have a puppy 5 months old. He likes to dig and chew things in the house when we are out. Even for short periods of time. He has lots of toys to play with and we have another dog he gets along with very well with. How can I stop the digging? My backyard looks like a mine field! The chewing is something just recent and it is hard to child proof the house and I have no plave to close him off into.
First of all this is normal behavior for a puppy. I recommend that you "puppy proof" the house, pick up everything that you do not want chewed. I also recommend that you crate train her. When you are not home keep her in a crate about 3-4 times her size. Try rotating her toys and buy her a new toy every week to keep her interested. You can give her ice cubes to numb her gums in case she is teething. Good luck, vetcare
