We've had a 5 year old female cat for 1 1/2 years, and just got a 1 year old male cat (both are fixed) one month ago. They are starting to tolerate each other a bit, but now the new male cat fights (bats and pounces) with the old female when she uses a litter box. We have 2 litter boxes, and they're both on different floors. Any suggestions?
Cats are very territorial animals. Make sure each can has it's own litter box and food/water dish. At this point they will work things out on their own. The older cat just wants to let the younger cat know who is boss. vetcare
