My 14 year old cat has had blood blisters in one ear for quite some time. I've taken her to three different vets--two diagnosed earmites and gave medication (neither worked), the other just cleaned her ear out and said that would work. I don't know what to do for her. She has a lot of ear wax and you can tell it itches her. Thank you for your help.
If your cat has an ear infection then the infection should be cultured so the appropriate antibiotic could be administered. Earmites can be viewed under a microscope. Did any of the vets tell you exactly what is growing in the ear??? Tresaderm kills both bacteria and mites. I would use this for 3 weeks 2x daily. If there is still no improvement maybe your pet has a polyp in the ear?? The "blood blister" you refer too maybe a ear hematoma, usually caused by scrating the ear. We routinely drain these surically but if you do not get rid of the itch then the hematoma will come back, Good luck, vetcarerx vetteam
