I have a new kitten and we are not sure of her exact age. We think that she is approx. 8-9 weeks old and have had her now for 4 weeks. She has just developed spots that look red and irritated and I have ringworm (I assume from her). How do cat's get ringworm and is there anything I can do to treat and prevent this from recurring? Also is there any shots that she needs to receive? Thank you.
Your pet needs to be seen by a vet for both the ringworm ( assuming it is ringworm???) and vaccinations. Ringworm is contagious and spreads via fomites. It is treated with anti-fungal medication. Miconazole is often used along with special shampoos. vetcare
