Have a Rottie-Chow mix he has a small lump about the size of a Quarter on his stomach area had him to our vet who told me it was just a fatty tumor and that these type dogs usually don't live long lives. Now we have noticed a small lump behind his front shoulder on his side this one about pea sized doesn't seem to hurt him but we were wondering how come the vet didn't want to do anything about it and should it be biopsied? Or should we get the opinion of a different vet?
It is not a bad idea to have a biopsy done. What your vet did was not neccessarily wrong. In my practice if I have a strong feeling the tumor is a fatty tumor and it is not causing any problems then I generally leave it alone. If you want a biopy to be on the safe side I think you should just ask your vet for it. Good luck, vetcare
