I was wondering if you thought a different type of litter could lead to some type of urinary blockage/infection? My cat (male) a few months ago and again now gets some type of infection - the vet hasn't really been able to determine what exactly it is he isn't fully blocked meaning he is able to go a tiny tiny bit - and strays from the litter box - but does manage to get out a little. They tested the urine and didn't find an infection so I'm just wondering your thoughts if a change in litter types might have any effect on my cat? They prescibed a steroid and an antibiotic called baytril but it has been a week and hasn't really seemed to relieve him much.
Thanks for your help.
Change in the litter can cause stress which then may lead to an infection or FUS. Does your pet have crystals in the urine? I also recommend an x-ray of the abdomen. This may help with answers. vetcare
