When we lived in a hot climate, my dog would dig a hole and push the dirt back in with her nose to get to a cool spot to lay. Her nose got infected and we had to treat her with antibiotics and something else to boost the healing. It seems red sometimes and I don't know how to tell if she has another infection. I've been layed-off and can't afford to take her to the vet unless it's a necessity. Is there something I can put on it to protect it? We now live in CO where it's cold, could the cold hurt it more? She's an inside pet but loves to go out and watch the world go by!
Well, if this is a chronic problem I recommend a biopsy of the nose. If you can not afford it then I recommend that you use sunscreen on her nose when she is in the sun. Put some Bacitracin on it for now and if there is no improvement then I recommend a visit to the vet. Vetcare
