We were just told that our 14 week old puppy has crystals in her urine. Our vet would like her to be on Hill's S/D dog food. However, we are a military family stationed here in Heidelberg, Germany. Our local military vet clinic doesn't have this food and we have been unable to find it at German vets in the area. Is there a medication that we can get that could dissolve crystals instead of this special food? We have an APO address so shipping the medication won't be a problem. We can get a presciption for any medication that we have to order from the states. Do you have anything availbale for urine crystals? Thank you. Natasha Kloeker
Talk to your vet about methijel (methionine). This is a urinary acidifying agent which helps in the prevention of struvite urolithiasis ( crystals as well). You may be able to find this in germany. If not I hope our company will send it to you. You need a rx for it but I do not see a problem with this, just ask your vet. vetcare.
