I have 2 house cats (thry just go to the back yard under constant supervision) I just got a 2 month old puppy. First question: How to help them get along?
2. Do I have to treat all of them for heartworm (preventive).
A vet recommended that I do not give them boosters as often because they are indoors.
3. What happens if my cats eat dog food and vise versa.
It is important that you spend time with the cats so they do not feel left out. Spoil them a bit more now that you have the puppy. They will adjust to each other given time. I recommend that you talk to your vet about vaccines. This is a personal decision between you and your vet. Your dog may turn into a cat if he eats the cat food so be very careful-only kidding. If they eat each others food once in a while it is not a big deal but you do not want to make a habit out of it. Each food has the vitamins, protein and minerals for the specific species it is made for. vetcare
