My male, neutered, cat has horrible fur matting next to his skin. He is about a year old and spends most of the time outdoors. He has the thickest fur I've ever seen on a cat and unless you pick him up you don't realize that it is matted at all. We live in SD so it is too cold to shave him. What can we do?
You have to shave him. It does not sould like you have a choice. Keep the cat inside until the hair grows back a bit and keep up with the brushing daily. Good luck, vetcare
