My 8 month old cat has started chewing on hard plastic objects such as the broom handle, end of saxaphone, etc. Is he still teething (like babies) or could there be a problem? If it's not a problem is there a way to discourage it. He also chews cardboard whenever he gets the chance.
This is normal behavior for a young cat but you must discourage it. Make sure you "cat proof" the house. Pick up anything that the cat can chew. You can also try repellent sprays. Have plenty of different toys and treats available, your cat may be bored. vetcare
