I have a 10 year old chocolate lab that over the last three years has been having some sort of seizure or something. I have taken her to several vets that were never able find a thing wrong with her. She will just out of the blue lay down on her side and her whole body will stiffening up, her eyes will buldge, and she can not breath and will start shaking as she lays in place (kind of like when a person is scared and they shake). If I open her mouth and stick my hand down her throat several times, she will begin breathing again and within minutes she is back to her normal self. These have only occured maybe ten times over the last 3 years that I am aware of since I can not be with her every waking moment. Would you possibly have any clue as to what this might be?
I recommend that you ask your vet for a referral to a specialist for some help in making a diagnosis. vetcare
