I have been to a few different vets recently concerning my cats hair loss. She also has broken patches of skin that occurs after excessive licking. One vet told me it was an unknown allergy and treated her accordingly. Another vet told me it was roundworm and again treated accordingly. Both times no qualitative identification tests were conducted. Is there something I can find out on my own or request to find and treat her condition, I do not want to waste more money on ineffective or inappropriate treatments. Thank you for your help.
Tests can be done to confirm both. A simple fungal test will help determine if this is ringworm. The test is not very expensive. Allergy testing can be expensive. vetcare
