Dear Dr. of Vet. medicine. I have a cat about 1 year of age, we adopted him from our local s.p.c.a. When we brought him home he had this runny nose watery eyes and a constance sneezing that has mucus coming out his nose. We have had him to the Vet. twice now,he has told us that upper resp. is fine, and that he doesn't have a cold. Then he told us that he may have allergies and gave us this medicine for him and yet he still has this sneezing and sometimes weezing of breath. this is the med. he gave us, doxycycline 100 mg 1/4 tab daily for 10 days. he is out and we are not sure what to do other than to take to another Vet. What is your help if I may ask?
It never hurts to go for a second opinion. Upper respiratory infections in cats are usually viral in origin and tend to take a while to go away. Antiviral meds are avail. vetcare
